His life and Epoque
In 1323 BC. AD, a young Egyptian king died. His name Tout.ankh.Amon - "the living image of Amun". Tutankhamun is the pharaoh of ancient Egypt who is best known. It was probably the son of Akhenaten, the heretic king of the XVIIIth dynasty. His mother was probably Queen Kiya, one of the wives of King side. Ankhésenpaaton (or Ankhesenamun), his elder half-sister, became his queen. Tutankhamun ascended the throne in 1333 BC. AD, at the age of nine, and reigned until his untimely death at the age of seventeen or eighteen years. Some believe he was murdered, and others that it was deliberately sent into battle to be killed. However, the exact cause of his death is unknown. Those who believe he was assassinated give evidence for the hole in his skull, but some experts are of the opinion that this hole was made after his death. His mummy is in such a bad state that we do not know maybe never what was the true fate of this minor pharaoh.

The views of experts differ as to the identity of the parents of Tutankhamen. According to one theory, he was the son of Amenhotep II and his wife Tiyi primary or secondary Méritré his wife. When the results of DNA testing performed on the mummies of pharaohs available, we will have a much clearer picture of the royal lineage
